Your Summer Trends Checklist

I have been asked by a number of clients recently about what the key looks are for this season. So I am going to cover all the key trends covered for Spring Summer 2016 (SS16) and the hottest items on the high street, right now.

  • Demin

Fashion is having a love affair with Denim at the moment, we are saying Bye to the skinny jean and going for a more relaxed fit.  Cropping, Fraying and embellishing, the faithful skinnies suddenly seem boring.

I absolutely adore this Strappy Denim top from Primark, a snip at £8, this proves you don’t have to blow the budget to look chic on your hols or cool at the weekends.  Team with some shorts or capri pants.

Primark Denim top £8

Relaxed fit cropped jeans are the fashionista’s favourite at the moment and this Zara pair are a relaxed fit, perfect for Mum Tums, wear with a heels for a dressier look or with some flat sandals for the weekend.

Relax Fit Jeans £29.99

Embellishment is key to denim right now, and Patterned florals are also everywhere so these cut of shorts are perfect

Topshop Jean shorts £32 and long leg Jean version £68

And last, but most importantly the Phillip Lims…The Cara favourite.

Net a porter £188

  • The Bodysuits,

I remember owning numerous bodysuits as a teenager and they are back! Making me feel old and sounding like my Mum. I have already brought 3, discovering they work really well with high waisted trousers and jeans.

Primary cowlneck £8 have a fantastic Range of bodysuits in every colour and style imaginable.  The style below look great on curvier figures.

  • The Wide leg trousers and Relaxed Jumpsuits,

Great for the summer and all body shapes.  Again, team with a bodysuit or more tighter fitting top so you can see your curves.  Look for higher waisted or go for a dungaree style if you want to hide your tummy.

Joseph Trousers £295

Totally in love with the below wide leg dungarees from Topshop

Topshop Pinafore Jumpsuit £68

This tie waist jumpsuit is perfect if you have an hourglass figurer as it can accentuate your waist.

Whistles Tie Jumpsuit £160
  • The Slip Dress

I couldn’t go without mentioning the slip dress, but beware, due to sheen in the fabric and the often closer cuts, these show all lumps and bumps. Team with a leather or denim jacket for day wear.  Just remember to wear the slip dress and make sure it doesn’t wear you!

Zara slip dress £69.99
  • The Souvenir Jacket

A fantastic little jacket for the Summer and one which is set to go into Autumn Winter 2016 (AW16) in longer patterns, which more fashion forward brands are starting to sell.  There have been so many variations and if you see one you like, Buy it, as they are very quick to sell out.

  • Contemporary Safari

You can’t shop on the high street or online at the moment without seeing a barrage of khaki’s and rusts in more structured tailoring. Funk up the below skirt with a T shirt a body.  Dress it up or down to your hearts content!  A fashion bloggers favourite.
